Pro government media can promote Najib's good looks every day but suing his political opponents shows his lack of class, remarks Zaid.
KUALA LUMPUR: Former de facto Law Minister Zaid Ibrahim lambasted Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak in a series of tweets today for suing Petaling Jaya Utara MP Tony Pua.
Zaid, who like former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad has been critical of Najib in recent months, deemed the prime minister’s act of suing Pua as having “no class” and said that Mahathir would never have done such a thing while in office.
“Suing Tony Pua shows clearly Najib has no class. If not for Tony and Rafizi we will never know about 1MDB. Tun M would never do that.”
He further mocked the prime minister by saying: “Wonder why Najib do not sue Sarawak Report and the New York Times. Is that (sic) because he is afraid of the outcome?”
The Sarawak Report published a series of exposes on 1Malaysia Development Berhad’s alleged mismanagement of funds while The New York Times published a piece questioning Najib’s source of wealth.
Zaid also heaped scorn on Najib saying that even though certain mainstream media were known to portray him in a favourable light, the prime minister’s act of suing his political opponents demonstrated his lack of class.
“Media Prima can promote his (Najib’s) good looks everyday in the front pages but suing his political opponents shows his lack of class”.
