FROM ZERO DOWN- PAYMENT TO LOW INTEREST: Car firms roll out Raya promos

KUALA LUMPUR - With Ramadan kicking off tomorrow and many taking the opportunity to start Hari Raya Puasa festivities next month with all things new, car brands have begun offering various promotions to woo buyers.

Volkswagen Malaysia seems to be making the most noise with savings up to RM48,000 with its promotion until July 31 – the Jetta, Tiguan, Passat, Golf, Polo and Polo Sedan are available with no downpayment and no interest for five year and seven year loans.

National carmaker Proton is also offering a rather similar promotion with buyers having the choice of zero downpayment or financing rate with 1.99% interest for all models.

And in whart is seen as a first in Malaysia, Proton is also offering a seven-year warranty as a part of its Cheerful Aidilfitri promotion till July 31.

Perodua is going with cash discounts for the downpayments of selected models and variants until July 31, where selected Myvi variants offer discounts of RM800 while selected Alza variants have a RM2,500 discount.

Ford is offering cash rebates up to RM8,000 for its Fiesta and Ecosport models while the Focus cash rebate is higher at RM10,000.

UMW Toyota’s promotion until June 30 has selected models getting accessory packages including DVD-AVN infotainment system with reverse camera and more.

Toyota is also offering lower monthly instalments from RM628 with its Toyota Capital 2-tier plan and cash rebates up to RM6,000. The Avanza’s cash rebate is RM2,000 and Altis at RM4,000.

The Alphard comes with a free 5-year car service, free road tax and insurance for a year and cash rebates or customers can opt to go for a low upfront payment instead.

Honda’s promotion gives a free service package option or cash option package to buyers.

Under its free service package option, the Honda City will receive free maintenance, Touch ‘N’ Go (convertible to cash option) and Raya discounts – all of which amounts to a total of RM3,112.91, or straight discount of up to RM2,500.

The Civic service package value amount to RM3,745.80 or discounts of up to RM3,000 while the Accord offers a total of RM5,683.40 worth of free maintenance or RM5,100 discount and the Jazz models maintenance package is valued at RM4,312.91 or discounts of up to RM3,800.

The same package applies for the Odyssey (RM3,634.03 maintenance or discount up to RM3,000) but the CR-V only offers a RM1,000 discount.

The Nissan promotion till July 31 from Edaran Tan Chong Motor is a contest where six winners get to host their own celebration party worth RM50,000 each.

It is also extending the RM1 accessory package that ranges from aerokits to navigation systems.

Naza’s Peugeot comes with 3-years free service on parts and labour or 3-years free road tax and RM4,000 discount, depending on models. - Therakyatpost
