Party sends notice telling members they are 'strictly prohibited' from attending functions
PETALING JAYA: Functions hosted by Amanah and the DAP are now no-go areas for PAS members.
In a circular sent to members today, the party announced that they were “strictly prohibited” from attending any events hosted by Parti Amanah Negara or the DAP.
PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan was reported to have stated that prior permission was required from the central working committee if any member wished to attend an event hosted by any other political party.
The notice said the Central Working Committee made the decision on Friday. The reason for the ban was to “maintain the unity of the party and to avoid a breach of the party constitution and instructions”, according to Star Online.
It said: “PAS members are prohibited to participate, engage, collaborate, assist or participate in any Amanah or DAP programme at all levels. PAS members must receive permission from the central working committee before attending any programme or political activity hosted by any other political party which they have received an invitation to.
Any event hosted by DAP and Amanah, however, was declared “strictly prohibited” (dilarang terus).
