KUCHING: Sarawak BN Chairman Adenan Satem said the criticism by SUPP’s Pending candidate Milton Foo over those selected for the upcoming state election “has been settled”.
“I have taken note of the matter and would like to move on,” the PBB president told reporters at the party’s headquarters here today.
Adenan said he would no longer comment on the matter.
In an open letter on Saturday, Foo expressed disappointment that candidates were picked unilaterally without consulting BN component parties.
Foo claimed this was a violation of the agreement among the parties.
Meanwhile, at the same press conference, SUPP’s Milton Foo expressed gratitude that Adenan continued to trust him, despite his criticisms of the chief minister.
Like Adenan, Foo said he wanted to move on and focus on regaining the Pending seat for SUPP and BN.
“I have said what I wanted to say. I would like to focus on the elections now.”
Foo said as a BN component party, SUPP had a responsibility towards the coalition.
Foo also said Adenan was a leader who was more willing to hear “the truth, and not mere praises”.
“I’m sure if this happened in DAP, I would have been replaced (with another candidate).”
Adenan also announced more candidates for the ruling coalition who will contest in the May 7 state election.
They were Ding Kuong Hiing (Meradong), Henry Harry Jinep (Tasik Biru) and Penguang Manggil (Marudi).
Ding is from SUPP, while Henry and Penguang are from SPDP.
