Hanipa feeling unwell in Parliament, taken to hospital

Amanah lawmaker Mohamed Hanipa Maidin was taken to hospital after feeling unwell in Parliament today.
Earlier, there was a heated debate in the House.
Hanipa had allegedly suffered giddiness and hypertension and a senior medical doctor based at a clinic in Parliament decided to send him to Kuala Lumpur general hospital.
A parliamentarian said Dr B Sugumaran who treated Hanipa was worried the Sepang MP may suffer a stroke.
The incident happened around 5.30pm when PSM lawmaker Michael Jeyakumar mooted for the Companies Bill 2015 to be referred to the Select Committee.
Deputy speaker Ronald Kiandee, who chaired the sitting, then allowed a 15-minute break.
The MPs began to notice Hanipa who was slumped on the table while they were walking out.
"It was so obvious, everyone getting up during the break (except him).
"He just sat down and couldn't get up, (Klang MP) Charles Santiago and I went to ask him, and he wasn't responding, he slumped one way," said DAP's Ipoh Barat MP M Kulasegaran.
"We talked to him and he wasn't responding. So we carried him out of his chair literally, and took him to the clinic."
Kulasegaran said Hanipa earlier told them that he felt like vomiting.
"Lucky we had the ambulance here. In 1964, we did not have the ambulance, the then speaker (Mohamed Noah Omar) died inside," he added. -Mkini
