S'WAK POLLS State DAP has announced that Larry Anak Asap will contest in Bukit Goram after Sarawak Worker's Party (SWP) former president Larry Sng pulled out from contesting the seat yesterday.
Its chairperson Chong Chieng Jen (pix above) said the party has moved Asap, who was slated to contest in the Baleh constituency, to Bukit Goram to fill the vacancy.
“One Larry (from SWP) out, one Larry (from DAP) in,” he joked at a press conference in Sarawak DAP headquarters at Kuching today.
Chong, who is the incumbent Kota Sentosa state assemblyperson, said initially Bukit Goram was allotted to DAP, but it later went to SWP.
With Sng's withdrawal from Bukit Goram in Kapit, the way is paved for DAP to fill the vacant spot, said Chong.
DAP now is contesting 30 seats from its previous 29 seats.
