We must let our domestic affairs be determined by our own people, says Prime Minister Najib Razak.
KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Najib Razak has hit out against certain leaders saying that they once championed nationalism but were now seeking foreign aid in the country’s domestic affairs.
“These people are willing to abandon principles, in fact, gamble away the nation’s sovereignty purely for their personal agenda,” Najib said in his latest post on his Facebook account.
“We do not need, we must not seek foreign intervention in our affairs,” he said. “Let our affairs be determined by the people themselves.”
Najib did not name the leaders in question, but he is believed to be referring to former Premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
According to a report by Emirates news agency, The National, Mahathir had asked international investigators to reveal their findings on 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) to the public.
Mahathir, who was in Dubai for the International Conference on Leadership, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, was recently quoted as saying that bribery in Malaysia has reached unprecedented levels.
