Red shirts leader Jamal Md Yunos has said that there will be a more aggressive response to the next Bersih convoy.
Asked about the blockade he set up at the Teluk Intan-Bidor road earlier today, Jamal said it was a coincidence as the reds and Bersih crossed paths.
“If I was driving I don’t know what would have happened. Good thing my friend was driving,” he said.
The Bersih convoy from Teluk Intan to Sabak Bernam was waylaid by the red shirts earlier today.
However the situation was quickly contained by the police, who stopped all the red shirts’ vehicles to let Bersih and other motorists pass.
Asked on what he’ll do next time, Jamal, who is also Sungai Besar Umno chief, said: “Next time I’ll vault my car on top of theirs.”
He added that the red shirts would be on stand-by to “chase away” Bersih.
Meanwhile, Jamal said he did not fault the cops for escorting Bersih, as it was their job.
However he pointed out the irony in Bersih having requested for an escort, while at the same time still allegedly bashing the cops.
“They got a bigger escort than the prime minister’s... But they are still insulting the police,” Jamal said in a speech earlier.
