Former PM says Opposition only thinks about their respective parties instead of how to unite as a party to defeat Barisan Nasional.
LUMUT: Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad has admitted that it would be difficult for the Opposition pact to overthrow the Barisan Nasional (BN) government which comprises 14 political parties.
He said the 14 component parties would help each other during the general election (GE) by voting for candidates fielded in specific areas.
“When a BN candidate is fielded, the other 14 parties (components) will support the candidate and the Opposition will always lose.
“This is because Opposition parties only think about their respective parties instead of thinking of how to unite as a party, that is why it cannot achieve victory,” he said at the launch of the Perak state level Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia here today.
