Trueglitter: The gnarling of teeth and aggressive gesturing of limbs by the obnoxious and utterly aggressive Sungai Besar Umno chief Jamal Md Yunos clearly serves as an oppressive act of blatant defiance for the righteous concerns of all right-thinking rakyat.

Clearly, the hopelessness of the situation has been further exacerbated by lack of any action from PDRM (Royal Malaysian Police), and especially the powers-that-be, which undeniably led us to believe that such unacceptable and premeditated aggression towards the opposition supporters were apparently condoned by leaders of Umno-BN and their political goons.

The rule of law should always apply to all parties in the endeavours of their supporters' conduct to do whatever is right in this regard and any untoward misbehaviour like those from Jamal and his bunch of mindless hooligans should be vehemently condemned as their blatant disregard towards human dignity and civic order under the rule of law will only make the attainment of any resultant victory ring hollow and deservedly un-inviting.

It makes people wonder who is actually in charge? And judging from the inaction from the inspector-general of police (IGP) so far, it is clear that Jamal is his boss.

Odin Tajué: The NGOs’ cautioning that the failure to apprehend and prosecute Jamal would send the message that Malaysia was governed by thugs instead of the rule of law shows that they are oblivious of reality.

Any opposition member against whom a police report is made, however ridiculous it may be, is either arrested or made to present himself to the police - Jeff Ooi had to say adios to liberty for a while.

Then there is no action whatsoever for making a false report, hence we have thugs like Jamal attributing all kinds of crimes to opposition without any fear of ramifications.

Finally, any report on his sort is simply ignored. Our police force is royal?

It’s all the more troubling as Jamal has taken over the law in broad daylight and the police are looking the other way giving indirect protection and the IGP on silent mode.
