Mas Ermieyati Samsudin says the incident should be handled wisely so that it does not recur.
JOHOR BAHRU: The pushing and shoving between Red Shirts supporters and Bersih supporters in Teluk Intan, Perak, last Saturday can give a bad image to Umno, especially from young people’s point of view.
Puteri Umno chief Mas Ermieyati Samsudin said the incident should be handled wisely so that it would not recur.
“Actually, when such a thing (the pushing and shoving incident) happens, to me it is not something that is positive and should be dealt with wisely.
“Whatever it is, I leave it to the party leadership whether to take action or not,” she told reporters at the opening of the Johor Craft Complex here yesterday.
Mas Ermieyati, who is also tourism and culture deputy minister, said this when asked to comment on the incident which also involved Sungai Besar Umno Division Chief Jamal Md Yunos.
A video recording on the incident went viral on social media a few days ago.
