UMNO & IGP DARE NOT BE FUNNY WITH JOHOR SULTAN: IF JOHOR UMNO & JOHOR COPS COULD CONTROL RED SHIRTS JAMAL, WHY NOT THE OTHER STATES?

The impunity that makes the red shirts very arrogant, aggressive and out to pick fights with the yellow shirted Bersih is very telling indeed. Never has anyone been so free to say and do things that the Umno supremo from Sungai Besar is doing. The law is clearly seen not to be applying to him and his mobs.
Can he tell us what law is Bersih breaking by holding rallies?
The Court of Appeal had declared unconstitutional Section 9(5) of the Peaceful Assembly Act, which penalised organisers of a rally if they failed to notify the police.

The Court of Appeal also quashed the Home Minister’s ban on Bersih 4 yellow T-shirts and pamphlets as it was “unreasonable”.

So what law is Bersih breaking? Where is the “Kedaulatan Undang-undang” of the Rukun Negara by the red shirts if they do not respect the Appeal court’s decisions?  Is this in accordance with the Umno Constitution, or with the Islamic values that he should be practicing?

The Appeal Court decisions show that the Government had acted in bad faith (or had stooped very low) in making a law that was unconstitutional in the first place and in unreasonably banning the wearing of yellow T-shirts.

And what is one to understand of the fact that a Minister from the Prime Minister’s Department, Shahidan Kassim, led a group of about 40 red shirts to meet the Bersih group in Perlis and tell the latter to vamoose from Perlis and not come near it again? The Minister was obviously the Captain in charge of the ‘delegation’. Isn’t this high-level (i.e. PM’s Department’s) political endorsement of the red shirt mobs?

But where were the red shirts in Johore, or is there no Umno Minister in Johore who could have led them to meet the Bersih group and tell Bersih to vamoose from the state which is the seat of Umno?

Like it or not, admit it or not, the red shirts in Johore were kept in check by one person – HRH the Sultan who had last year warned that he does not want troublemakers in Johore to create discord among the various ethnic groups living peacefully in Johore.

In a posting on his Facebook page shortly after midnight on Sept 16 2015, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar said Johor had no room for hatred and racism.

“Let me reiterate, there is no place for hatred and racism here in Johor Darul Ta’zim. It was never welcomed, nor will I ever welcome haters and racists here in Johor.

“If anyone who want to practise hatred and racism in Johor Darul Ta’zim, the home of the Malays, Chinese and Indians – Bangsa Johor, please leave Johor immediately. That is an order!”

It’s all a matter of “will”, i.e. whether one has the will to act firmly like the Sultan of Johor, or the will to endorse and support the hooligans by giving them leadership as was done by Shahidan Kassim.

If the police in Johore could provide assistance to Bersih to carry on with its rally peacefully, it is hoped the police in Penang can do the same on Saturday.

The Johore police contingent has set the standard for facilitating peaceful rallies by Bersih, and the police in Penang and other states will be judged by the same standard. There is only one police force throughout the country, with state contingent
