From this Malaysiakini article on EC Commissioners (current and previous) we get to hear from Azmin Ali who partly spoke on what we all already know, namely, that the EC is controlled by UMNO, and partly on his (Azmin Ali's) f**king double-standards talk, as expected of a PKR man.
[...]
Azmin also questioned the appointment of Umno information chief Annuar Musa's private secretary Mohd Hashim Abdullah as EC chief.
"How can EC act independently and professionally if a senior official of Umno is appointed in the commission?"
Azmin, who is also PKR deputy president, said that no political party should sit in an entity which conducts the general elections.
He claimed that BN obviously used EC, particularly on the Sept 15 proposed redelineation exercise.
"It was as though EC was waiting for their instruction to create safe constituencies for BN," Azmin said.
He also saw a silver lining behind the move by Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) to appoint former EC chief Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman as vice-president.
Abdul Rashid joined Malay rights pressure group Perkasa in 2003 and was appointed vice-president.
He headed the EC from 2000 to 2008.
Extracts of MKINI article:
Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali reiterated that BN controls Election Commission (EC) by highlighting that they proposed the appointment of Prime Minister Najib Razak's principal secretary as the deputy chairperson.
However, he claimed that the proposal was not accepted by the Conference of Rulers three weeks ago.

Earlier, Azmin said he expects Abdul Rashid to help Bersatu expose BN's conspiracy and fraud in the previous general elections.
Abdul Rashid joined Malay rights pressure group Perkasa in 2003 and was appointed vice-president.
He headed the EC from 2000 to 2008.
So Azmin Ali sees a silver lining former EC chief Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman joining Pribumi as the new party's vice-president ...
... now get this ... because Azmin expects Abdul Rashid to help Pribumi expose BN's conspiracy and fraud in the previous general elections.
Let's review what we know of Azmin's new bosomy pal, Abdul Rashid.
Abdul was EC Commissioner from 2000 to 2008 with his notorious "achievements" for UMNO such as a federal constituency like Putrajaya with only 15,000 voters (subsequently 17,000) and opposition stronghold of Kapar with 150,000 voters all sardinized by Abdul Rashid.
Kapar voters sardinized by former EC Commissioner Abdul Rashid, current best mate of Azmin Ali |
Thanks to Abdul Rashid, who led the EC in managing six out of the 13 general elections, as well as four redelineation exercises, he was able to make one Melayu vote in Putrajaya worth 10 'non' votes in Kapar, thus he could be called Bapak Gerrymandering.
Not only that, he boasted that when he was EC chairman he made sure past redelineation exercises were designed to keep certain parties in power, meaning UMNO and its cronies.
Abdul Rashid is also a Perkasa vice-president, people who don't like Chinese and Indians, and Malays who have the effrontery to join DAP (but PKR is sort of okay).
And Azmin Ali thinks the world of him, and why not - after all, Azmin Ali is leaning towards Pribumi which has been formed by his 'uncle'. Today, with PKR under Azmin under Pribumi under Mahathir, it's more of a Malay than multiracial party, with Tian Chua and Eli Wong doing god-knows-what?
