Five others who had gone swimming at Pantai Kampung Nipah, near Bachok, rescued by passers-by.
BACHOK: Two Tahfiz students are feared drowned when they went missing while swimming with five friends at Pantai Kampung Nipah here today.
Bachok district police chief DSP Nik Aminuddin Raja Abdullah said the missing students were Ilham Mohd Hafiz and Mohd Aiman Che Hashim, both 15, of Maahad Tahfiz Sains Al-Muhammadi, Kampung Nipah.
They were believed to have been swept by the currents in the 3.30pm incident, he said.
The two friends had gone swimming with five others — Ahmad Daniel Mohd Azizi, Mohd Nafiz Irfan Mohd Nazri, Omar Saizan, Talha Mohd Hatta and Daniel Hakim Mohd Syukri, all aged 15 and also students of Maahad Tahfiz Sains Al-Muhammadi, Kampung Nipah.
However, the five friends were rescued by passers-by.
Nik Aminuddin said a search and rescue operation had been mounted for the missing students.-FMT
