CONCERNS OF ‘FORCED CONFESSIONS OR RETRACTIONS’ ALA ANWAR’S BLACK EYE, TEOH BENG HOCK SWIRL AS POLICE CONTRADICT LAWYER OF AZMIN’S ALLEGED LOVER HAZIQ: ‘HE WILL BE RELEASED ONLY WHEN CURRENT STAGE OF INVESTIGATIONS COMPLETE’ – CID CHIEF

Federal CID director Huzir Mohamed said that Santubong PKR Youth chief Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz will only be released on bail today, when police have completed their current stage of investigations.
“(He will be released) when the current stage of investigations is completed today,” Huzir (photo, above) said when contacted by Malaysiakini.
Haziq was arrested at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport yesterday in relation to his confession to allegedly being one of two men featured in leaked sex video clips implicating Economic Affairs Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali.
Haziq’s intended destination was Manila.
Haziq’s lawyers revealed their client is expected to be released on police bail today.
“We were informed by ASP Khairul (the investigating officer) that our client was taken to Balai Batu 9 Cheras and he is in Kuala Lumpur Hospital now.
“According to the investigating officer, he (Haziq) won’t be remanded and will be given police bail,” said lawyers Ramesh Sivakumar, Sivahnanthan Ragava, Afiqah Abdul Latiff and Goik Kenzin today.
It was reported that Haziq, an aide to a deputy minister, is being investigated under four laws, including Section 377B of the Penal Code for “carnal intercourse against the order of nature” and Section 292 for distribution of obscene materials.
Meanwhile, Azmin, who is also PKR deputy president, has denied all allegations and posted online today that the “truth shall prevail”. MKINI

Lawyer: Haziq brought to HKL, won’t be remanded

KUALA LUMPUR— A lawyer representing the arrested Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz said the latter was sent to Hospital Kuala Lumpur following his arrest yesterday.
According to the Star Online portal, Ramesh Sivakumar said the police told him earlier that they had taken Haziq to the Batu 9 Cheras police station following the arrest at the KLIA last night.
“According to the IO, he won’t be remanded and will be given police bail,” Ramesh was quoted as saying.
According to Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department Director Datuk Huzir Mohamed, Haziq was arrested at 6pm.
He is under investigation over four alleged offences including one under Section 377B of the Penal Code for “committing carnal intercourse against the order of nature”.
On Tuesday, the first wave of two videos about 90 seconds each were spread to journalists on a WhatsApp group created for the purpose and where several screenshots of purported bank transactions with Azmin’s name were also attached.
The banks involved have since come out to deny the authenticity of the transactions, saying that the accounts used were non-existent.
Haziq later confessed on his Facebook page to being in the video and accused Azmin of being the other.
Azmin has rejected the videos as fake and an attempt to assassinate his career and character while Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has also dismissed their authenticity.
More videos were released following Azmin’s denial and each side has lodged police reports against the other. MALAY MAIL
