No crisis brewing in PKR over sex video scandal - Saifuddin

PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution has denied that a crisis is brewing in the party over the sex video scandal implicating deputy president Azmin Ali.
"No, there is no crisis in the party. The party is operating as usual," he told Malaysiakini.
However, he admitted that the party's activities can easily be paralysed by an internal crisis.
Saifuddin said PKR president Anwar Ibrahim, vice-president Dr Xavier Jayakumar, information chief Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin and himself had attended a party event in Sabah earlier today before departing for Kuching for another function.
"We are business as usual because we have decided to leave the investigation to the authorities," he said.
Saifuddin also reiterated the party's stand on rejecting gutter politics.
On June 12, Santubong PKR Youth chief Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz confessed that he and Azmin were the individuals in the sex video which went viral.
Anwar had denied that he and his supporters were behind the sex video plot.
Saifuddin also brushed off allegations that some leaders in the Pakatan Harapan are pushing for Anwar to join the cabinet soon and be made the deputy prime minister next year.
He was responding to a report carried by The Star.  - Mkini
