SHAH ALAM: The Coroner’s Court here will call a physics expert to testify at the inquest into fireman Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim’s death when it resumes next month.
It was also decided during case management today that former forensic doctor Shahrom Abd Wahid, who was brought in to scrutinise a report by Hospital Kuala Lumpur pathologists, would be recalled, said deputy public prosecutor Fatin Hadni Khairuddin.
“The court decided today that on July 3, 4 and 5, the inquest will continue by recalling the 29th witness, Sharom, to give further evidence and explanation.
“The court also set July 16 and 17 to call a physics expert to explain the issue of calculation of force inflicted on the victim during the incident,” Fatin told FMT when met outside the court.
She said the physics expert might be the last witness in the inquest, provided that the court requires no further testimonies by witnesses and experts.
The housing and local government ministry and the fire and rescue department will be represented by a group of senior federal counsels from the Attorney-General’s Chambers.
Lawyer Syazlin Mansor, who withdrew from the inquest last month, returned today as a watching brief lawyer for Adib’s family, Fatin said. - FMT
