PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution has dismissed uncertainty over the timeline for Dr Mahathir Mohamad to hand power to PKR president Anwar Ibrahim.
He reiterated that Pakatan Harapan would adhere to its decision in January this year for Anwar to succeed Mahathir as the eighth premier.
"As for the rest, we leave it to the wisdom of the two men (Mahathir and Anwar)," he told media at the sidelines of the National Cost of Living Action Council meeting in Putrajaya today.
In February, Anwar said he expected to hold the top post after two years, as agreed with Mahathir beforehand.
Yesterday, American broadcaster CNBC quoted Mahathir as saying he would not stay beyond three years but the premier later denied saying this.
This has raised eyebrows over the timeline of Mahathir' succession plan.
Saifuddin, who is domestic trade and consumer affairs minister, also ticked off the media for reading too much into the issue and for asking questions.
"But I appreciate the interest of the media which has followed this issue," he said.
