UCSI University is ranked the nation’s best private university for the second year in a row, according to the QS World University Rankings 2020.
UCSI rose 39 spots from last year to be ranked 442 among the world’s universities, placing it among the top two percent of the world’s universities.
This comes as the nation's top-rated public university, Universiti Malaya achieved its highest-ever ranking in the same list, jumping up 17 spots to 70th.
UCSI vice-chancellor Khalid Yusoff said the latest milestone was a result of a consistent university-wide push for excellence and performance.
“This has not in any way been a natural or organic growth. Rather it reflects the strategies adopted and the dedication and commitment of all concerned,” he said in a statement today.
Khalid added that the recognition places a great responsibility on the staff and students alike to continue consolidating and improving its high standards.
Earlier this year, UCSI’s Institute of Music was also ranked in the global top 100 in the field of performing arts, according to the QS World University Rankings by Subject. - Mkini
