Vernacular schools: Nga instructs DAP Youth wing to lodge reports against PAS

Perak DAP chief Nga Kor Ming has instructed the party's youth wing to lodge police reports against PAS women's wing vice-chief Salamiah Md Nor for calling an end to vernacular schools in the country.
Nga, who is also Dewan Rakyat deputy speaker, accused the Islamist part of inciting hatred.
"It appears that PAS is becoming more extreme," he said in a statement today.
Nga (photo, above) said Chinese vernacular schools had been established since 1815 and pre-dates PAS.
He also stressed that vernacular education is protected under the Federal Constitution.
Nga claimed Salamiah's call breached the Sedition Act and called for action to stop PAS from "undermining the country's harmony and unity".
He added that moderate and progressive Malaysia cannot tolerate racial and religious extremism.
Earlier today, Salamiah while debating PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang's policy speech at the party's 65th Muktamar in Kuantan, called for an end to vernacular schools.
She added that the party's women's wing was unwilling to accept Mandarin as a second language.
However, PAS vice-president Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar later downplayed Salamiah's comment, stating that she was only debating the matter and that it was not the party's actual policy. - Mkini

  1. Bullshit all the way. "It was not a party decision, opinion. It doesnt represent party." Is this the best answer when a party member gave a rasis, seditious, uncalled for comment.
