YOURSAY | ‘Haziq has a lot of backing and without a doubt, his intention is to bring down Azmin.’
Anon 2000: If Economic Affairs Minister Azmin Ali recorded the sex video, then who leaked it? Would Azmin send this to a third party knowing very well that such a video will end his career?
Something doesn't seem quite right.
VP Biden: Indeed, why would Azmin record something that will implicate him? And then release it.
Only sekolah pondok Umno can come up with nonsense like this.
Ihaveadream: @VP Biden, assuming that the video and the alleged actors are authentic, your argument has merit.
But if it is not Azmin, it must surely be Santubong PKR Youth chief Haziq Abdullah Abdul Haziz (assuming again it is not planted by the hotel concerned) and the reasons are quite obvious.
But if the video and the alleged actors were actually fake, then Haziq's unreserved public admission becomes even more intriguing.
Another Komentar: If this is a conspiracy as most believe it is, then the conspirators must be backed by powerful people with resources (those with plenty of money and influence).
Umno and those who want to check the rise of Azmin comes to mind. All of this is gutter politics of sleaze that would not go away.
In this disgusting narrative, it’s okay to steal billions than being seen in bed with a same-sex person.
Anonymous 0123456789: It seems that PM is more likely to appoint Azmin instead of PKR leader Anwar Ibrahim to replace him as PM and this has enraged Anwar and worried DAP.
Well, the PM seems cannot be bothered by this dirty tactic, and still believed and trust Azmin. How true this is, we will have to wait for new developments.
Scoopy Doo: I believe there is a lot more that will be released. Definitely, Haziq has a lot of backing and without a doubt, his intention is to bring down Azmin.
That said, Mahathir was too quick to rubbish this.
If the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) and MACC are going to get to the bottom of this and release all information, we will know soon enough.
I think Azmin will be history soon. He bit off more than he can chew. Anyway, this whole thing sucks.
Bert: Santubong PKR chief Ahmad Nazib Johari is convinced that Haziq has been framed with regards to the confession video and that it was not Haziq who appeared in the confession video.
But Haziq has reiterated his claim of indulging in sexual acts with Azmin. This is really mind-boggling.
Something is very wrong somewhere.
Fairview: Hopefully, the police investigation will be thorough and swift as the new IGP (inspector-general of police) appears to be a no-nonsense type of person.
The confirmation that Azmin’s political secretary met up with Haziq (who is a trained lawyer, not a carrot head) adds to the intrigue. Something fishy is going on.
Roger 5201: Nobody asked Hafiz to lie. Why does he need to consult his parents to deny it was Azmin? Was his sworn testimony not his own?
The facts do not match up, nor does his all too familiar video. Hafiz has a lot of explaining to do.
Open Mind: It is really very brave of Haziq and requires a great deal of courage, especially for a Muslim, to own up publicly to such scandalous actions.
Homosexuality is taboo in Islam. PAS (and the Brunei sultan) intend to outlaw such acts and the punishment is stoning or canning in public.
I wonder what incentives or rewards will induce a Muslim to reveal such activities publicly. Is shaming a public person strong enough reason?
FairMalaysian: There have been reports lodged and while waiting for the outcomes, why should anyone jump the gun and declare someone is guilty or innocent?
Shouldn't Haziq be investigated on whether his open admission is true or fake? Umno and PAS leaders have openly derided the accusation, which is salutary.
Anonymous_b3cdcd05: One's sexual preference is his own business. Haziq has made himself the sacrificial lamb to put his master's plan into action.
Whether there is any truth to his claims depends on how far his alleged backers are prepared to go to bring down Azmin.
Especially now that Azmin has shot it down as a diabolical scheme to destroy his political career and Mahathir has dismissed it as a fake video.
Once the matter is in the courts, it is sub judice. The media, the biggest beneficiary of this disgraceful episode, will be the biggest losers.
Ex-Wfw: It would appear that any action to realise one's political ambition, which by the way includes getting money in a corrupt manner, is acceptable in our slanted Malaysian politics submerged under political correctness based on religious ideology.
This is the sum total of our 60 years of struggle for freedom to be a nation with plenty of claims based on ‘ketuanan’ (supremacy).
In spite of all the belief that ours is one embedded in piousness but in reality, it is nothing more than easy money at any cost to the nation.
In Bangkok, my friends from Asean were asking: When will we stop getting ourselves submerged in this quagmire?
Falcon: This is even turning out better than Sodomy 1 and 2, and other past and still ongoing sexual exploits of the rich, powerful and famous in new and old Malaysia.
