On 1st March Iran again went through their fake and farcical elections. Only candidates approved by the ayatollah regime were allowed to stand for elections. The Iranian people showed their displeasure by refusing to vote. Figures show a turnout of 27% but this is questionable. Reports indicate that in many polling stations there was ZERO voter turnout!
This is ayatollah style democracy - where almost 3 out of 4 voters do not even turn up to vote. The people have lost all faith in this farcical system.
Only ayatollah approved candidates can stand for elections to Parliament (Majles). Then the Majles is a rubber stamp. The ayatollah Supreme Leader runs the country, assisted by a lame duck president.
