KOTA BHARU: Police have arrested a man with a record for criminal and drug-related offences for his alleged involvement in a burglary at Kampung Tasek Mahligai Bachok here.
Bachok police chief Ismail Jamaluddin said police received a report on Thursday from a complainant who said the windows and iron grilles of her kitchen had been pried open.
Upon inspection, the complainant found several items missing.
He said police lifted three fingerprints from the scene, and conducted several searches in and around Bachok yesterday to track down the man.
“Police arrested a 44-year-old suspect after finding several items in his car believed to belong to the complainant.
“Among the items were a TV set, fan, electric kettle, rice cooker and water pump, as well as a saw believed to have been used by the suspect,” he said.
Ismail said a urine test found the suspect positive for methamphetamine.
He said the man confessed to being involved in other house break-in incidents. - FMT
