BUTTERWORTH: A police corporal was injured after being hit by a motorcyclist attempting to escape arrest early this morning on the North-South Highway.
The corporal, aged 33, suffered a broken left rib, concussion and injuries to the body, Seberang Perai Utara acting police chief Siti Nor Salawati Saad said.
He was among a team conducting an operation around Kampung Teluk and the Butterworth Outer Ring Road from 3am.
While attempting to stop two youths who were riding their motorcycles dangerously, one of them hit the policeman’s motorcycle, causing both of them to fall.
Both youths, aged 19 and 20, were detained for further investigation. - FMT
