A former aide to Transport Minister Anthony Loke has joined Bersatu.
Dahlan Maamor, who served as Loke's political secretary from 2018 to 2020 had submitted his Bersatu membership form to party secretary-general Hamzah Zainudin, according to a Facebook post today.
Hamzah said Dahlan contacted him last week to express his intent to join the party.
According to his previous social media postings, Dahlan was once an Umno member.
Before serving with Loke, he was a TV presenter with Bernama TV.
In 2016, he was suspended for one week from the TV station after sharing a Facebook post critical of then-prime minister Najib Abdul Razak.
Shortly after his suspension, he was bumped off from hosting a talk show episode that was supposed to discuss Permata.
Permata, a children's enrichment programme, was the brainchild of Najib's wife Rosmah Mansor. - Mkini
