Meta services down: Users complain of login issues

 

Several of the US social media company Meta’s services appear to be down, leaving users of Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger out cold.

The issue caused users to be logged out of their social media accounts and be unable to log back in, and are wrongly told they have entered the wrong password if they tried.

The website Downdetector recorded a spike of user complaints about having issues accessing Facebook since 11.14pm, reaching more than 350,000 complaints as of the time of writing.

Many have also turned to rival social media platforms to complain about the issue or ask if others are having the same problems.

Meanwhile, Meta’s services status website posted an update at 11.17pm saying they are aware of issues affecting Facebook logins.

“Our engineering teams are actively looking to resolve the issue as quickly as possible,” it said.

The same website also reports that Meta is having “major disruptions” with its administrative centre for business users, as well as WhatsApp Business and marketing APIs. - Mkini
