Umno supreme council member Mohd Puad Zarkashi has doubled down on his criticism of the Central Database Hub (Padu) system due to operation and communication weaknesses.
He said any weakness in Padu reflected directly on Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli.
“Rafizi is known as the ‘king of formulas’. His formulas all failed. Padu is Rafizi, Rafizi is Padu. Padu is seen as a failure,” Puad wrote on Facebook.
Yesterday, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim asked Rafizi to clarify Padu registration issues at the next cabinet meeting, after Sarawak Premier Abang Johari Openg raised concerns about the system.
“I had a discussion with the premier of Sarawak and he voiced some concerns and raised some questions. Accordingly, the economy minister was asked to examine the issue and provide an explanation to the cabinet,” Anwar had said.
Earlier, Sarawak Creative Industries and Performing Arts Minister Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah criticised the system when he likened Padu registration to stripping citizens naked, as they were required to disclose all personal details, including bank accounts, real estate and investments.
Puad said the failure of Padu will impact Rafizi directly.
“Padu failed because the work system failed, communication failed and Rafizi’s image failed.
“Will the ‘delivery system’ of the people’s welfare be delayed and add to the mess?” he added.
The Umno leader further said that Rafizi was now reaping the “karma” he had sown in the past for criticising the leadership of former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak.
“In the past, Rafizi liked to incite, BN was a rising commodity. Najib was 1MDB, 1MDB was Najib.
“Now the law of karma is returned to him,” Puad added. - Mkini
