'Cat burglary' reported at Rafizi's residence, Internet users amused

PETALING JAYA: Rafizi Ramli's house was "broken into" by ten suspects while he was away for the Hari Raya holidays.

In a tongue-in-cheek Facebook post Thursday (April 11), the Economy Minister said, "The owner of a house here was surprised after returning from a festive holiday."

In his post, Rafizi said the ten suspects, who had been identified, had ransacked the kitchen and vented their frustrations on a plastic plant on the cabinet.

"Several suspects tried to escape to the upper floor of the house and even tried to make off with the owner's exercise equipment, but were unsuccessful.

"The last suspect was nabbed trying to hide among the potted plants," he said, adding that the "motive is believed to have stemmed from the dissatisfaction at being left behind while the house owners had gone to celebrate Hari Raya".

As at 8.15pm Thursday, the post had garnered more than 4,200 likes and 1,200 comments, with Internet users mostly amused with the post and wishing him Selamat Hari Raya.
