Cops nab religious teacher over alleged sodomy of tahfiz students

 

A religious teacher has been detained for allegedly sodomising three students of a tahfiz school in Machang, Kelantan.

District police chief Ahmad Shafiki Hussin said this was after police received reports from three victims, aged between 12 and 13, at the Machang police station on Apr 15.

"The act was believed to have happened over the last two years and all the victims claimed they were sodomised by the ustaz at the tahfiz centre," he said in a statement today.

Following the complaint, police arrested the 39-year-old suspect to facilitate investigations under Section 377C of the Penal Code (carnal intercourse against the order of nature).

"The suspect was remanded for seven days from April 16. The remand order was then further extended until Apr 29," said Shafiki. - Mkini
