HULU SELANGOR: Residents, particularly voters of six Bersatu members of Parliament (MPs) who have thrown their support behind the unity government, have been urged to assert pressure on their respective representatives.

Making the call, Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman and Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said voters in the six constituencies should convey their dissatisfaction to the MPs on the lack of tangible improvements, especially concerning the escalating cost of living.

"Tell them, after more than a year into the Madani government's administration, and people's lives are becoming more difficult.

"Tell them, even if they have the right to make decisions (to support the unity government), as the residents under their constituencies, you can no longer tolerate an irresponsible government that is unable to fulfil promises.

"Tell the MPs not to support them (the unity government)," he said during Ceramah Umum in Kuala Kubu Baharu today.

In his speech, Muhyiddin reiterated that the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election is crucial, as it will send a strong signal to the unity government.

"Although the outcome of the May 11 by-election will not result in the shift of power either at the state or federal level, a win will send them a signal that enough is enough.

"On May 11, in front of you (voters in Kuala Kubu Baharu) there will be a report card (ballot paper).

"Make your assessment of their performance. How many marks should be given to the party and the federal government," he said. - NST
