PAS has voiced solidarity with DAP’s Seputeh MP Teresa Kok and denounced the death threat she received.
The party’s secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan said she deserved to receive all protections available under the law and called for a swift investigation into the incident.
“Kok as a citizen and MP deserves to receive all protections available under the law and, as a citizen and parliamentarian, has the right to live free from fear or threats.”
He also highlighted that recent violent acts, affecting various individuals including politicians, must be addressed promptly.
“Such violent and destructive incidents have been increasingly common recently,” he said.
PAS also acknowledged that a police investigation has begun under Section 507 of the Penal Code and urged adherence to the law, advocating for a peaceful society that respects all individuals regardless of background.
The police confirmed receiving a report from Kok regarding an envelope found in her mailbox that contained a threatening letter and bullets. - Mkini
