PETALING JAYA: Perikatan Nasional’s Khairul Azhari Saut has unveiled a five-point manifesto for the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election, promising to defend minority groups and preserve the natural environment.
Khairul promised to push for quality development in Kuala Kubu Baharu, particularly for efficient basic infrastructure and to act as an intermediary between voters and government agencies.
He also vowed to prepare a blueprint for sustainable development to ensure the area’s natural environment can be protected while developing the constituency.
The PN candidate said he wanted to promote Kuala Kubu Baharu as an ecotourism destination, citing its rich natural beauty.
To further spur the local economy, he said he would turn his service centre into a platform to match local job-seekers with industry players.
He promised to upgrade sports and recreational facilities in the area and to introduce more socioeconomic programmes targeted at youths and women.
He also pledged to defend minority communities, including ensuring better facilities for Orang Asli villages.
Khairul said he would demand for better disabled-friendly facilities in the constituency.
Khairul is in a four-cornered contest for the seat with Pakatan Harapan’s Pang Sock Tao, Parti Rakyat Malaysia’s Hafizah Zainuddin and independent candidate Nyau Ke Xin. - FMT
