KUCHING: The Sarawak Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has been allocated RM104 million this year for affordable housing and Rumah Spektra Permata (RSP) projects in the state, says public health, housing and local government minister Dr Sim Kui Hian.

He said the funding was part of the RM263 million approved under the 12th Malaysia Plan mid-term review.

Sim said there were 16 projects encompassing 742 affordable houses and RSP in Kuching, Serian, Betong, Sarikei, Mukah, Miri and Limbang and one grant for the issuance of strata titles for HDC flats.

“To date, 12 projects covering 655 units are ongoing, while the remaining four projects are at the planning stage,” he said when winding up for his ministry in the Sarawak assembly.

Sim also said eight Projek Rakyat had been approved with one of them, the infrastructure upgrade at RSP Skim Pembesaran Kampung in Igan, in central Sarawak, already completed. - FMT
