KUALA LUMPUR: The National Union of Bank Employees (NUBE) said an employee at a local bank has filed a police report over alleged sexual harassment by her superior.
NUBE secretary-general J Solomon said the employee, who worked as a bank teller, lodged the report last month in Ipoh.
“She told us that the police summoned her this week to record statements from her.
he told reporters after a picket outside the bank’s headquarters here.They have subsequently informed her that the investigation papers have been submitted to the Attorney-General’s Chambers,
Solomon added the police report was filed after the bank purportedly did not take action against the superior. The sexual harassment allegedly happened in 2021.

Earlier today, some 500 of the union’s members picketed outside the bank’s headquarters to protest against the financial institution’s mistreatment of its workers.
Solomon said they will continue picketing next week if the government does not step in.
