PETALING JAYA: The Sarawak government is offering free university education to outstanding school-leavers who wish to become doctors.
Deputy health minister Lukanisman Awang Sauni said top-scorers in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia examination who wish to study medicine can do so at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) for free.
Bernama quoted him as saying.I advise them to take the opportunity the state government has provided,
This is not the first time the state has offered free education to SPM top scorers.
In July, Sarawak’s deputy education minister Annuar Rapaee said those with 10As who failed to enter matriculation or public university foundation programmes could enrol at University of Technology Sarawak.
