KUALA LUMPUR: A PKR leader has urged the police to investigate who is responsible for uploading the sex video clip implicating Anwar Ibrahim on the Internet.
Federal Territories PKR deputy chief R Suresh Kumar said a short version of the video clip, labelled “VTS 011”, was uploaded by a person using the monicker, “thepowercam”.
Previously, Shazryl Eskay Abdullah, one of the three who exposed the video to the media, said they have not submitted the 22-minute to anyone apart from the police.
“So how did it leak, who is the culprit?” asked Suresh. “The leak shows that some government agencies are working behind the scene (on this scandal),” he told FMT.
Questioning the authenticity of the video clip, he also asked if the recording had taken place in Kuala Lumpur or Thailand.
“The recent video clip had the words ‘Phaholyothin Road,Bangkok,Thailand 10400,Copyright 2011′ at the bottom of the screen,” he said.
“How can a video clip recorded in Kuala Lumpur have these words?” he asked, referring to Eskay’s claim that the recording was done here.
“If the video clip was edited in Thailand, so what is the role of Thailand in this?” he added.
According to him, several anti-opposition websites had stated yesterday that the video was availabe on YouTube. However, it was later claimed that YouTube had allegedly removed at least 10 such clips.
Meanwhile, Suresh also asked the police to investigate rumours that the video was aired during a Biro Tatanegara (BTN) course while villagers in Penanti, Penang, were shown the video at the Kemas office. - FMT
