The Marine Affairs and Fishery Ministry has rejected and returned 13.04 tons of shrimp from Malaysia with white-spot-syndrome virus.
The shrimp were returned from Belawan port in Medan, North Sumatra, to Penang port in Malaysia on Tuesday, the ministry's chief for marine resources and fishery control, Syahrin Abdurrahman, said on Friday, antaranews.com reported.
Syahrin said that the shrimp entered Indonesia through the Belawan port on Dec.12, when local inspectors discovered the contamination.
The shrimp were prevented from leaving the harbor as a health hazard.
