Umno thugs throw eggs, shouted obscenities

MALACCA March 2: Umno-Barisan Nasional increasingly desperate in its efforts to maintain the power, has resorted  to let their supporters turn to violence and gangs, said Chairman of the Leadership Council, PKR Malacca, Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin.

He commented on the latest group of Umno members who threw eggs and shouted obscene words in a talk organized at a village by PKR Kerubung, Malacca, which is one of the strongholds in the state Umno last night.

"Driver Raman commit provocations including the issuance of harsh language and obscene against Pakatan Rakyat speaker.

"In fact, when S Kesavan (ADUN Perak) spoke, suddenly two of the Umno thugs started throwing eggs at the residents who attend.

"One of the Umno thugs were identified as Umno branch leaders who were screaming at us during our talks," said Shamsul to the keadilandaily.

Shamsul, who is also Chief of PKR Youth Wing, said the villagers themselves were embarrassed and disgusted by their behavior, but only asked the speakers of PR to be patient.

Following the commotion, he said, a Police van and four patrol cars came to control the situation.

He was in on it lamented the fact that the speakers of the evening just want to explain the difference in state policy of the Pakatan Rakyat with the Barisan Nasional in Malacca.

"We explain our policy to the people because they have a right to know what we will offer if we were given the mandate as the new government.

"After all, Umno media did not give us the opportunity to explain our policy even just half an hour in the official government media," he said.

Umno supporter violence is a string from a series of violent clashes in Bangkok, Penang and Johor.

Prior to this, Umno supporters have acted violently and had attacked during the talk with Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in Sembrong, Johor and also damaged his car who is the defacto leader of PKR.

In Pahang, the Vice President of PKR, Nurul Izzah Anwar was almost hurt by Umno supporters in a ceremony at Felda Gambang.

While in Penang, the Umno supporters had also acted violently and attacked  Lynas Anti campaigners, which was also attended by Chief Minister of Penang, Lim Guan Eng, while we saw two journalists were injured.- KeadilanDaily
