KUALA TERENGGANU, -- The opposition is seeking to distract the public who are happy with the 2013 Budget by announcing a gathering on Nov 3.
Umno Supreme Council member Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi said the positive response to the 2013 Budget was disconcerting to the opposition and they appeared to have run out of ideas to get the vote of the people for the coming general election.
"I see them as not being disheartened by the Bersih 3.0 gathering on April 28," said Dr Mohd Puad, who is also Deputy Education Minister.
"I am certain that they are holding the gathering on Nov 3 because they want to distract the attention of the people from the 2013 Budget," he told a press conference after opening a state-level seminar at Stadium Negeri, here, today.
PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu yesterday announced that Pakatan Rakyat would organise a gathering at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium on Nov 3 to state their stand on the eight demands of Bersih 2.0 at Parliament lobby.
The gathering would be made to uphold the eight demands of Bersih 2.0, which did not get the response of the government and were being forgotten.
