The headmaster of SK Seri Pristana in Sungai Buloh has been ordered by the Selangor Education Department to go on leave for a week.
According to Utusan Malaysia, Mohamad Nasir Mohd Noor said the department is expected to complete its investigations in a controversy concerning the school by the time he returns to work.
Mohamad Nasir (left) revealed this after lodging a police report at the Saujana Utama police station that he had been slandered.
SK Seri Pristana is currently the centre of a controversy over the use of a shower room as a makeshift canteen.
Some non-Muslim parents claim that their children were made to eat there during the month of Ramadan.
Mohamad Nasir lodged the report at 11am today, and also claimed that he had received insulting and threatening phone calls following the controversy.
He said that the makeshift canteen has been operating for three months now, and was set up in order to solve the problem of overcrowding in the school canteen.
"In the mornings the sun blazes right into the canteen, and because the area is very hot the students did not want to eat anything there and instead ate by the drain.
"I noted that the place was not clean, so I placed them in the shower room which has not been fully utilised."
The headmaster explained that students rarely used the shower room because they are allowed to wear sports attire for co-curricular activities.
He also said that he had placed a notice to bar students from using the room as a toilet and had even locked the water pipe in the room.
