Accept criticism calmly, advices Isa

Allegations and criticisms are common things faced by candidates in any elections, said Umno vice-president contender Isa Abdul Samad
KUALA PILAH: Every candidate contesting in the upcoming Umno elections must be prepared to face any criticism made, especially through the new media or social websites.
Candidate for the party vice-president post, Isa Abdul Samad said although some of the criticisms were untrue or slanderous, this had become a common thing faced by candidates in any election.
“If before, criticisms could have been in the form of poison pen letters  but with the current technology, they are conveyed through the new media and so on.
“Whether the criticism is pro or against us, as candidates we have to accept it as that is the reality we have to face,” he said when met by reporters at a Felda function here yesterday.
Isa was asked to comment on the various criticisms levelled at him as a candidate contesting a vice-president post, through the new media like blogs and social websites.
Regarding himself as a veteran who had faced all kinds of criticism before, Isa advised all candidates, especially the new ones, to face the situation calmly and to continue to work at winning in the upcoming party elections.
“Anyone out to criticise me, may do so as it’s no problem for me… because this would inevitably happen.”
He said any criticism should not break the spirit of a candidate to contest, but the candidate should instead prove his or her capability and continue to work hard to strengthen the party.
