Well the Big Day is getting closer. The Ketua Pemuda and Ketua Wanita election is up first.
If Shahrizat wins the Ketua Wanita it will most likely spell the end of UMNO. If KJ wins the Ketua Pemuda it may also hasten the demise of UMNO - even though on the ground the Pemuda is not as effective as the Wanita. In the old days, the Pemuda was more dynamic than the Wanita - which has always been dynamic as well. Not anymore. Both are lembap.
There is one very strong and credible challenger for the Ketua Pemuda post. Of course I am referring to Akhramsyah. Thats the guy in the picture here.
There is a whole list of differences between Akhramsyah and Khairy Jamaluddin that I will show here. But one huge very simple "as big as a house" difference stands out.
Akhramsyah holds a job. He really works for a living. He holds a 9-5 job with a foreign oil company. (Its Shell - though I dont know why Akhram never mentions the name of his employer.)
Thats the simplest and biggest difference I see between the two candidates. Can you tell me what KJ did for a living before becoming a Minister? Or how KJ earned an income?
Then again in the achievement awards, Akram holds a masters Degree in Chemical Engineering from the Imperial College in London. None of that politics, philosophy entah ape stuff. This is the real deal - how to produce oil, gas, petroleum and stuff.
In Shell Malaysia he is a senior staff who is now responsible for all their petrol stations (Akhram negotiates the leases and the contracts for Petrol stations). Before this he handled shipping contracts for Shell Malaysia. Before that he worked for Shell in Singapore and before that he worked for three years at Shell in Holland.

He has the rare experience of having worked in Siberia (on a Shell assignment) to help turn around an oil field owned by Roman Abrahamovich, Russia's richest billionaire, oil tycoon and owner of Chelsea football club. So this is not just your ordinary cup of teh tarik anak Melayu. The guy has been around the world a few times.
Not to be left out I am sure KJ has been to Siberia too, but most probably to meet with Roman Abrahamovich !!
Here is something else about Akram. He lives in a terrace house in Taman Tun that is now being endangered by the MRT project. His wife is a doctor and they have five kids plus the sixth due by November. His assets (including the house) total between RM1.0 - RM2.0 Million.
In contrast I dont think KJ lives in a terrace house. And how much do you think is KJ's net worth?
i. RM1.0 - 2.0 Million ?
ii. RM10.0 - 12.0 Million ?
iii. RM 100 - 120 Million ?
iv. RM1.2B ?
Your guess is as good as mine. Here is a picture of the two guys and their families :
In contrast Akhramsyah does not have any DAP agents as his Press Secretaries.
Finally Akram drives a Toyota Innova and a Proton Waja. I dont know what KJ drives but I believe if there is more time left before the Pemuda polls he may be getting a Kancil. Or he may be arriving in a Kancil. Who knows? The world is a stage.
