Barely having enough time to soothe their egos after a nasty insult from MCA president Dr Chua Soi Lek, Gerakan is now seething over Chua's sarcastic apology.
In a press release today, Gerakan secretary-general Mah Siew Keong demanded for a sincere apology, citing anger among his members.
"Many Gerakan members are sorely offended and very angry towards the sarcasm Chua has shown in his insincere apology," said Mah in a statement today.
Chua had on Friday described his MCA deputy Liow Tiong Lai as "weak, indecisive and not a fighter", adding that if he took over the party, MCA would become another Gerakan.
The initial statement had angered Gerakan but Chua's non-apology yesterday did not help after he said sorry, but insisted that he was correct in his assertion.
Mah said that Chua had crossed the line with the latest remark and warned that this can be damaging to BN.
"He should really realise that his ill-conceived act will hamper future cooperation between Gerakan and MCA, which is detrimental to BN as a whole,” he said.
Mah said that BN only managed to garner 15 percent of Chinese support in the last general election therefore Gerakan and MCA should instead focus on strengthening their parties.
