DAP Duyong assemblyperson Goh Leong San, who has just given up his post of leader of the opposition in the Malacca state assembly, says DAP's top father-son duo Lim Kit Siang and Lim Guan Eng have, just like him, also praised BN leaders.
Goh therefore defended his recent commending of Malacca Chief Minister Idris Haron, and rebutted criticism that he was ‘flirting with the BN' or even giving an ‘early sign of joining the BN'.
First, DAP secretary-general and Penang Chief Minister Guan Eng in March 2011 made some positive comments about then de facto law minister Nazri Abdul Aziz.
Second, DAP parliamentary leader Kit Siang in April 2010 praised Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak for his promise to give Chinese primary schools an allocation of RM3 million.
Third, Kit Siang during the 13th general election also made positive remarks about his opponent in Gelang Patah, former Johor menteri besar Abdul Ghani Othman.
"Are these praises for BN leaders? If yes, then please make a clear break with them (the two Lims). If not, please find some suitable sentences to describe them," Goh told his political foes in the Malacca DAP.
DAP Kota Laksamana assemblyperson Lai Keun Ban and Ayer Keroh assemblyperson Khoo Poay Tiong recently bombarded Goh for praising Idris, and declaring their ‘clear break' with him.
Goh in response accused Lai and Khoo of trying to overthrow him, with support from a certain DAP central leader.
Lai: No hidden hand behind me
Goh on Tuesday announced his resignation as leader of the opposition in the Malacca state assembly, saying he was forced to the decision because he had lost the support of the opposition camp.
Also today, Nanyang Siang Pau reported Lai as denying that there was a hidden hand behind him, and challenged Goh to name this person, if there was one.
Lai also denied that he was eyeing for post of opposition leader, describing the allegation as baseless and done with ulterior motives.
Goh, who has been attracting media attention lately, yesterday changed the venue of his press conference at the last minute and notified only the Chinese press about the new venue, leaving out the other language media as well as the electronic media.
