Six people are believed to have been injured when a Twin Otter belonging to MASWings crash landed near a vacant house in Sabah this afternoon.
MAS said in a statement that the plane operating from Kota Kinabalu to Kudat had crashed short of the runway of the Kudat aiport. No fatalities were reported in the incident at about 2.50pm.
Police said the aircraft, which was carrying 16 people, appeared to have landed short of the runway and ended up near a vacant house in the nearby Kampung Sin-San.

It is understood that six people were injured. The extent of their injuries are still unknown.
In its statement, MAS said, "No reported fatalities as of now. Focus of the airline is on the rescue of the passengers and crew.
"We will continue to monitor the situation at the crash site and update the situation," it said.
