KUALA LUMPUR: The entrance to Wisma MCA here is packed with MCA central delegates, who began arriving as early as 7am for the party's extraordinary general meeting (EGM), three hours ahead of the start of the event.
Party president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek, who arrived about 8am, was seen going around to greet the delegates while they were having their breakfast.
Deputy president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai arrived 45 minutes later.
Liow, who is facing a resolution to censure him at the EGM, was greeted by his supporters who shouted "huat ah" ( good luck in Hokkien) to lend him their support.
The resolution says, among others, that Liow refused to accept collective party decisions, and that his actions provoked infighting among members and tarnished the party's image.
The other three resolutions are to overturn an earlier resolution by the party not to accept any government posts after its poorer performance in GE13 compared with GE12.
Voting for the resolutions is scheduled to start 10.30am and results are expected around 2pm.
About 90% of the 2,380 plus delegates are expected to vote.
