Five non-governmental organisations (NGO) today called on the authorities to take stern action against an individual who insulted Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and the Malaysian flag on Facebook.
In this regard, a report was lodged at the Pandan Indah police station by Martabat Jalinan Muhibbah Malaysia president Abdul Rani Kulup Abdullah, who represented the four other groups namely Majlis Persahabatan Ayahanda Malaysia, Pertubuhan Gerakan Bersatu 69, Ikatan Rakyat Insan Muslim Malaysia and Gerakan Memartabat Pejuang Negara.
Abdul Rani said the police report was aimed at urging the authorities, including the Home Ministry, to take stern action against those who upload pictures insulting the prime minister and the Malaysian flag.
It is learnt the individual concerned uploaded a picture of the prime minister with the body of a woman in a Malaysian flag designed dress in his Facebook account.
