Safeguard or DESTROY MCA committee? Soi Lek's men rap rival faction over party assets

Safeguard or DESTROY MCA committee? Soi Lek's men rap rival faction over party assets
It is again regrettable to see that grassroots leaders of MCA has used the media to inflict damage on the party for their personal gain by spreading untrue and baseless accusation on party asset management.
I have explained clearly that the transfer of the Wisma MCA building will only be shown in the MCA-Headquarters’ account instead of the Huaren Resources Sdn Bhd’s account because the latter is only acting as a trustee and nominee on behalf of MCA.
On Wangsa Maju division chairman and MCA Safeguard Party Assets Committee chairman Datuk Yew Teong Lock’s allegation that the transfer had not been exempted from the Real Property Gains Tax (RPGT) of RM5 million due to the paper gain of RM96.6 million from the disposal of the building, I must say that the allegation is totally untrue.
The Finance Minister had on December 31, 2009 exempted the RPGT under the the RPGT Act 1976, on the disposal of real properties that are acquired for more than 5 years.
As we all know that the Wisma MCA is now aged more than 30 years, hence the transfer of of the building will not be subject to tax.

Unfit
Yew is not fit and qualified to call himself the chairman of the MCA Safeguard Party Assets Committee with his ignorance on the RPGT law as he has politicised every issue to gain political mileage for his political masters at the expense of the party’s image.
Yew is also being irresponsible by making wild claims that the matter was not discussed in the Central Committee (CC) meeting. Apparently the so-called MCA Safeguard Party Assets Committee is not out to “save” the party but to smear the party’s name for their own political agenda.
Perhaps Yew should just change the name of the “MCA Safeguard Party Assets Committee” to “Destroy MCA Committee”.
The CC meeting on December 13, 2010, had actually discussed on the matter and it was also recorded in the meeting minute. Central leaders who attended the meeting included: Datuk Seri Dr. Chua Soi Lek, Dato’ Sri’ Liow Tiong Lai, Datuk Seri Chor Chee Heung, Datuk Dr. Wee Ka Siong, Dato’ Yu Chok Tow and many more.
I must reiterate that any sales of party asset will require ⅔ of approval from the Presidential Council and
I hope that these grassroots leaders will stop tarnishing the image of the party because it can only be transformed if we are united on a common destiny that is an united and stable MCA.
Tan Chai Ho is the MCA Treasurer-General
