Reports on Khairuddin's bankruptcy sent to Muhyiddin committee.
BUKIT MERTAJAM: Penang Umno is waiting for a decision by the Umno Management Committee chaired by deputy president Muhyiddin Yassin on the status of Batu Kawan Umno vice-chief Khairuddin Abu Hassan.
Penang Umno leader Zainal Abidin Osman said all information about bankruptcy and discipline had been submitted to Umno headquarters after Khairuddin was declared a bankrupt by the Insolvency Department in May last year.
Khairuddin has filed several police reports about the financial status of 1Malaysia Development Berhad, the government-owned investment company, and the brainchild of Umno president Najib Razak, the prime minister.
Zainal said Khairuddin would remain as Batu Kawan Umno vice-chief until the party’s management committee and headquarters decided otherwise.
“Penang Umno will accept any decision made by Umno headquarters concerning his bankruptcy status or disciplinary issues, or whether he had violated the party’s constitution,” he said.
Zainal Abidin said this to reporters after launching the presentation of the 1Malaysia People’s Aid (BRIM) 2015 for the people in the state here today.
