Police arrested Adam Adli Abdul Halim in downtown Kuala Lumpur today after the student activist gave a speech at a protest in support of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in front of the Sogo department store, the scene of many such protests 17 years ago.
He was later brought to the Dang Wangi police station, 100 metres away from the protest site.
Earlier, two groups of lion dancers joined the protest against Anwar's five-year jail sentence for sodomy that was upheld on February 10 by the Federal Court.
